Come February, the art world will be buzzing about Sri Lanka. That’s when the 2nd Colombo Art Biennale, a festival celebrating interantional contemporary visual arts, will showcase creations from some of the world’s most engaging artists. From February 15-19, 2012, at least 20 Sri Lankan artists along with many more from around the globe will present works that capture the festival’s theme, “Becoming.” Colombo’s art galleries, aong with cultural sites and heritage buildings in the city, will display works interpreting the theme through a variety of mediums – film, installation, painting, sculpture, new media, and performance art.
